ADP-Ribosylierungsfaktor 5 (ARF5) Homo sapiens Dieses Gen ist ein Mitglied der menschlichen ADP-Ribosylierungsfaktor (ARF)-Genfamilie. Diese Gene kodieren kleine Guanin-Nukleotid-bindende Proteine, die die ADP-Ribosyltransferase-Aktivität von Cholera-Toxin stimulieren und eine Rolle beim vesikulären Transport und als Aktivatoren der Phospholipase D spielen. Die Genprodukte umfassen 6 ARF-Proteine und 11 ARF-ähnliche Proteine und bilden eine Familie der RAS-Superfamilie. Die ARF-Proteine werden als Klasse I (ARF1, ARF2 und ARF3), Klasse II (ARF4 und ARF5) und Klasse III (ARF6) kategorisiert. Die Mitglieder jeder Klasse teilen eine gemeinsame Genorganisation.
