Hintergrund

Das von diesem Gen kodierte Protein ist am engsten mit HUS1 verwandt, einem Bestandteil eines Zellzykluskontrollpunkt-Proteinkomplexes, der an der Zellzyklusarrestierung als Reaktion auf DNA-Schäden beteiligt ist. Dieses Protein kann mit dem Kontrollpunktprotein RAD1, aber nicht mit RAD9 interagieren. Die Überexpression dieses Proteins hat sich als zelltodinduzierend erwiesen, was auf eine verwandte, aber unterschiedliche Rolle dieses Proteins im Vergleich zu HUS1 hindeutet.
