Hintergrund

Cyclin B2 ist ein Mitglied der Cyclin-Familie, genauer gesagt der B-Typ-Cycline. Die B-Typ-Cycline, B1 und B2, assoziieren mit p34cdc2 und sind wesentliche Komponenten des Zellzyklus-Regulierungsmechanismus. B1 und B2 unterscheiden sich in ihrer subzellulären Lokalisation. Cyclin B1 kolokalisiert mit Mikrotubuli, während Cyclin B2 hauptsächlich mit der Golgi-Region assoziiert ist. Cyclin B2 bindet auch an den Transforming Growth Factor Beta RII und somit könnte Cyclin B2/cdc2 eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Transforming Growth Factor Beta-vermittelten Zellzykluskontrolle spielen.
