Dieses Gen (IFNGR2) kodiert die nicht-ligandenbindende Beta-Kette des Gamma-Interferon-Rezeptors. Der humane Interferon-Gamma-Rezeptor ist ein Heterodimer aus IFNGR1 und IFNGR2. Defekte in IFNGR2 sind eine Ursache für die Mendelsche Anfälligkeit für mykobakterielle Erkrankungen (MSMD), auch bekannt als familiäre disseminierte atypische mykobakterielle Infektion. MSMD ist eine genetisch heterogene Erkrankung mit autosomal-rezessiver, autosomal-dominanter oder X-chromosomaler Vererbung. [bereitgestellt von RefSeq, Juli 2008].
