Hintergrund

Dieses Gen kodiert ein Zytokin, das entfernt mit Typ-I-Interferonen und der IL-10-Familie verwandt ist. Dieses Gen, Interleukin 28A (IL28A), und Interleukin 29 (IL29) sind drei eng verwandte Zytokingene, die einen Zytokingen-Cluster auf einer chromosomalen Region bilden, die auf 19q13 kartiert ist. Die Expression der von den drei Genen kodierten Zytokine kann durch Virusinfektion induziert werden. Alle drei Zytokine interagieren bekanntermaßen mit einem heterodimeren Klasse-II-Zytokinrezeptor, der aus dem Interleukin-10-Rezeptor, Beta (IL10RB), und dem Interleukin-28-Rezeptor, Alpha (IL28RA), besteht.
