Es wurde gezeigt, dass die Coexpression dieses Proteins und der IL10RA-Proteine für die IL10-induzierte Signaltransduktion erforderlich ist. Dieses Gen und drei weitere Interferonrezeptorgene, IFAR2, IFNAR1 und IFNGR2, bilden einen Klasse-II-Zytokinrezeptor-Gencluster, der sich in einem kleinen Bereich auf Chromosom 21 befindet.
