Dieses Gen kodiert für einen Tumorsuppressor, der an Transkriptions- und posttranskriptionalen Kontrollwegen beteiligt ist. Das Protein ist eine Komponente des PAF-Proteinkomplexes, der mit der RNA-Polymerase-II-Untereinheit POLR2A und einem Histon-Methyltransferase-Komplex assoziiert ist. Dieses Protein scheint die Assoziation von 3'-mRNA-Verarbeitungsfaktoren mit aktiv transkribiertem Chromatin zu erleichtern. Mutationen in diesem Gen wurden mit dem Hyperparathyreoidismus-Kiefer-Tumor-Syndrom, dem familiären isolierten Hyperparathyreoidismus und dem Nebenschilddrüsenkarzinom in Verbindung gebracht.
