Mitglieder dieser Familie enthalten eine Phox (PX)-Domäne, eine Phosphoinositid-bindende Domäne, und sind an intrazellulärem Transport beteiligt. Dieses Protein ist in Zellkulturen mit der langen Isoform des Leptinrezeptors und mit Rezeptortyrosinkinasen für Plättchen-abgeleiteten Wachstumsfaktor, Insulin und epidermalen Wachstumsfaktor assoziiert, aber seine Funktion ist unbekannt. Dieses Protein kann oligomere Komplexe mit Familienmitgliedern bilden. Für dieses Gen wurden zwei Transkriptvarianten gefunden, eine proteincodierende und eine nicht-proteincodierende.
