itchy E3 Ubiquitinproteinligase (ITCH) Homo sapiens Dieses Gen kodiert für ein Mitglied der Nedd4-Familie von HECT-Domänen-E3-Ubiquitinligasen. HECT-Domänen-E3-Ubiquitinligasen übertragen Ubiquitin von E2-Ubiquitin-konjugierenden Enzymen auf Proteinsubstrate und zielen so auf spezifische Proteine für den lysosomalen Abbau ab. Das kodierte Protein spielt eine Rolle in mehreren zellulären Prozessen, einschließlich der Differenzierung erythroidaler und lymphoider Zellen und der Regulierung von Immunantworten. Mutationen in diesem Gen sind eine Ursache für syndromale Multisystem-Autoimmunerkrankungen.
