Dieses Gen kodiert eine Nicht-Rezeptor-Tyrosinkinase, die zur Familie der neuen Kinasefamilie 3 (NFK3) gehört. In migrierenden Zellen ist das kodierte Protein mit dem Aktin-Zytoskelett und fokalen Adhäsionen assoziiert und fördert die Elongation sich entwickelnder fokaler Adhäsionen.
