Hintergrund

Moesin (für „membrane-organizing extension spike protein“) ist ein Mitglied der ERM-Familie, zu der Ezrin und Radixin gehören. ERM-Proteine scheinen als Quervernetzer zwischen Plasmamembranen und Aktin-basierten Zytoskeletten zu fungieren. Moesin ist in Filopodien und anderen membranen Vorsprüngen lokalisiert, die wichtig für die Zell-Zell-Erkennung und -Signalübertragung sowie für die Zellbewegung sind.
