Hintergrund

Derlin 3 (DERL3) Homo sapiens. Das von diesem Gen kodierte Protein gehört zur Derlin-Familie und befindet sich im endoplasmatischen Retikulum (ER). Proteine, die im ER entfaltet oder fehlgefaltet sind, müssen erneut gefaltet oder abgebaut werden, um die Homöostase des ER aufrechtzuerhalten. Dieses Protein scheint am Abbau fehlgefalteter Glykoproteine im ER beteiligt zu sein. Für dieses Gen wurden mehrere alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten identifiziert, die verschiedene Isoformen kodieren. [bereitgestellt von RefSeq, Okt. 2008].
