WFS1 Kaninchen-pAk ist ein ELK Biotechnology Antikörper für Forschungsabläufe, die WFS1 umfassen.

Hintergrund

Dieses Gen kodiert ein Transmembranprotein, das hauptsächlich im endoplasmatischen Retikulum lokalisiert und ubiquitär exprimiert wird, mit den höchsten Spiegeln in Gehirn, Bauchspeicheldrüse, Herz und Insulinom-Beta-Zelllinien. Mutationen in diesem Gen sind mit dem Wolfram-Syndrom, auch DIDMOAD (Diabetes Insipidus, Diabetes Mellitus, Optikusatrophie und Taubheit) genannt, einer autosomal-rezessiven Erkrankung, assoziiert. Die Krankheit betrifft das Gehirn und das zentrale Nervensystem. Mutationen in diesem Gen können auch die autosomal-dominante Taubheit 6 (DFNA6), auch bekannt als DFNA14 oder DFNA38, verursachen. Alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten wurden für dieses Gen gefunden. [bereitgestellt von RefSeq, März 2009]
