Hintergrund

BECN2 (Beclin 2) ist ein Protein-codierendes Gen. Zu seinen verwandten Signalwegen gehören der Autophagie-Signalweg und die Infektion mit dem Kaposi-Sarkom-assoziierten Herpesvirus. Ein wichtiges Paralog dieses Gens ist BECN1. Beteiligt an 2 verschiedenen lysosomalen Abbauwegen: fungiert als Regulator der Autophagie und als Regulator des Abbaus von G-Protein-gekoppelten Rezeptoren. Reguliert den lysosomalen Abbau einer Vielzahl von G-Protein-gekoppelten Rezeptoren über seine Interaktion mit GPRASP1/GASP1.
