Rekombinantes humanes Interferon Alpha-2b wird von unserem E.coli-Expressionssystem produziert und das Zielgen, das Cys24-Glu188(Lys46Arg) kodiert, wird exprimiert.
Es sind mindestens 23 verschiedene Varianten von IFN-α bekannt. Die einzelnen Proteine haben Molekularmassen zwischen 19-26 kDa und bestehen aus Proteinen mit Längen von 156-166 und 172 Aminosäuren. Alle IFN-α-Subtypen besitzen eine gemeinsame konservierte Sequenzregion zwischen den Aminosäurepositionen 115-151, während die amino-terminalen Enden variabel sind. Viele IFN-α-Subtypen unterscheiden sich in ihren Sequenzen nur um ein oder zwei Positionen. Natürlich vorkommende Varianten umfassen auch Proteine, die am Carboxyl-terminalen Ende um 10 Aminosäuren verkürzt sind.
