Heterochromatin-Protein 1 (HP1) ist eine Familie von heterochromatischen Adaptermolekülen, die sowohl an der Gen-Stilllegung als auch an der höherrangigen Chromatin-Struktur beteiligt sind. Alle drei HP1-Familienmitglieder (α, β und γ) sind primär mit zentromerem Heterochromatin assoziiert.
