Das DYKDDDDK-Peptid (Flag-Tag) ist eine kleine Epitopkomponente, die die Bioaktivität oder die Biodistribution des rekombinanten Proteins nicht zu beeinträchtigen scheint. Es wurde ausgiebig als allgemeines Epitop-Tag in Expressionsvektoren verwendet. Es kann für die Affinitätschromatographie verwendet werden, um rekombinantes, überexprimiertes Protein von Wildtyp-Protein zu trennen, das vom Wirtsorganismus exprimiert wird. Es kann auch zur Isolierung von Proteinkomplexen mit mehreren Untereinheiten verwendet werden.
