Stat5a und Stat5b werden in verschiedenen Zelltypen unabhängig reguliert und aktiviert. So aktiviert beispielsweise die Interferonbehandlung vorwiegend Stat5a in U-937-Zellen und Stat5b in HeLa-Zellen.
