Glycerinaldehyd-3-phosphat-Dehydrogenase (GAPDH) ist als eines der Schlüsselenzyme der Glykolyse bekannt. GAPDH wird in fast allen Geweben in hohen Mengen konstitutiv exprimiert, daher sind Antikörper gegen GAPDH als Ladekontrollen für den Western Blot nützlich. Einige physiologische Faktoren, wie Hypoxie und Diabetes, erhöhen die GAPDH-Expression in bestimmten Zelltypen.
