Das von diesem Gen kodierte Protein gehört zur Tigger-Unterfamilie der Pogo-Superfamilie der DNA-vermittelten Transposons beim Menschen. Diese Proteine sind mit DNA-Transposons in Pilzen und Nematoden verwandt und entfernter mit den Tc1- und Mariner-Transposasen. Sie ähneln auch sehr stark dem Hauptprotein B des Säugetier-Centromers. Die genaue Funktion dieses Gens ist nicht bekannt.
