KITLG identifies KIT ligand in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 4254, UniProtKB P21583 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: KIT ligand (KITLG; stem cell factor/SCF) is a growth factor that binds and activates the KIT receptor tyrosine kinase. KITLG-KIT signalling supports hematopoietic and other stem/progenitor cells and contributes to mast-cell development, gametogenesis and melanocyte biology.
