Der sezernierte Phospholipase A2-Rezeptor ist ein Enzym, das beim Menschen durch das PLA2R1-Gen kodiert wird. Dieses Gen repräsentiert einen Phospholipase A2-Rezeptor. Das kodierte Protein existiert wahrscheinlich sowohl in transmembraner als auch in löslicher Form. Der Transmembranrezeptor könnte eine Rolle bei der Clearance von Phospholipase A2 spielen und so deren Wirkung hemmen. Polymorphismen an diesem Locus wurden mit der Anfälligkeit für idiopathische membranöse Nephropathie in Verbindung gebracht. Alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten, die verschiedene Isoformen kodieren, wurden identifiziert.
