PCSK9 identifies proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 255738, UniProtKB Q8NBP7 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: PCSK9 is a secreted regulator of plasma cholesterol homeostasis. It binds LDL receptor-family members, including LDLR, and promotes their degradation, reducing receptor recycling to the cell surface.
