NADH-Dehydrogenase (Ubichinon) 1 Beta-Unterkomplex, 5, 16kDa ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das NDUFB5-Gen kodiert wird. Das durch dieses Gen kodierte Protein ist eine Untereinheit der Multisubunit NADH:Ubichinon-Oxidoreduktase (Komplex I). Der Säugetier-Komplex I besteht aus 45 verschiedenen Untereinheiten. Er befindet sich an der inneren Mitochondrienmembran. Dieses Protein besitzt NADH-Dehydrogenase-Aktivität und Oxidoreduktase-Aktivität. Es überträgt Elektronen von NADH auf die Atmungskette. Der unmittelbare Elektronenakzeptor für das Enzym ist vermutlich Ubichinon. Für dieses Gen wurden drei Transkriptvarianten gefunden, die verschiedene Isoformen kodieren.
