Der nukleäre Rezeptor-Koaktivator 4 ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das NCOA4-Gen kodiert wird. Dieses Gen kodiert einen Androgenrezeptor-Koaktivator. Das kodierte Protein interagiert mit dem Androgenrezeptor in einer Liganden-abhängigen Weise, um dessen Transkriptionsaktivität zu verstärken. Chromosomentranslokationen zwischen diesem Gen und dem Ret-Tyrosinkinase-Gen, das sich ebenfalls auf Chromosom 10 befindet, wurden mit dem papillären Schilddrüsenkarzinom in Verbindung gebracht. Es wurden alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten beschrieben. Pseudogene sind auf den Chromosomen 4, 5, 10 und 14 vorhanden.
