MCM3 (MINICHROMOSOME MAINTENANCE, S. CEREVISIAE, HOMOLOG OF, 3), auch RLFB oder P1 PROTEIN genannt, ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das MCM3-Gen kodiert wird. MCM3 ist eines der hochkonservierten Mini-Chromosomen-Maintenance-Proteine (MCM), die an der Initiierung der Replikation eukaryotischer Genome beteiligt sind. Das MCM3-Gen ist auf 6p12.2 kartiert. Dieses Protein ist eine Untereinheit des Proteinkomplexes, der aus MCM2-7 besteht. Es wurde gezeigt, dass es mit MCM5/CDC46 interagiert. Dieses Protein interagiert auch mit MCM3AP, einer chromatinassoziierten Acetyltransferase, und wird von ihr acetyliert. Die Acetylierung dieses Proteins hemmt die Initiierung der DNA-Replikation und des Zellzyklusfortschritts.
