Interleukin-31 (IL-31) ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das IL31-Gen kodiert wird, das sich auf Chromosom 12 befindet. IL31, das hauptsächlich von aktivierten Th2-Typ-T-Zellen produziert wird, interagiert mit einem heterodimeren Rezeptor, der aus IL31RA und OSMR besteht und konstitutiv auf Epithelzellen und Keratinozyten exprimiert wird.
