Interleukin-10 (IL-10 oder IL10), auch bekannt als humaner Zytokinsynthese-hemmender Faktor (CSIF), ist ein entzündungshemmendes Zytokin. Beim Menschen wird IL-10 durch das IL10-Gen kodiert. Es ist in der Lage, die Synthese proinflammatorischer Zytokine wie IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-3, TNFα und GM-CSF zu hemmen, die von Zellen wie Makrophagen und regulatorischen T-Zellen gebildet werden. IL-10 zeigt auch eine starke Fähigkeit, die Antigenpräsentationskapazität von antigenpräsentierenden Zellen zu unterdrücken. Kim et al. (1992) zeigten, dass das Maus-Il-10-Gen 5 Exons enthält und sich über etwa 5,2 kb genomische DNA erstreckt. Eskdale et al.
