IFNG identifies interferon gamma in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 3458, UniProtKB P01579 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: IFNG encodes interferon gamma, a secreted type II interferon produced by cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems. Active IFN-gamma is a homodimer that binds the interferon-gamma receptor and drives cellular responses to viral and microbial infection.
