Fibrinogen-ähnliches 1 ist ein Mitglied der Fibrinogenfamilie. Dieses Protein ist homolog zum Carboxyterminus der Fibrinogen-beta- und gamma-Untereinheiten, die die vier konservierten Cysteine von Fibrinogenen und Fibrinogen-verwandten Proteinen enthalten. Diesem Protein fehlen jedoch die Thrombozytenbindungsstelle, die Vernetzungsregion und eine Thrombin-sensitive Stelle, die für die Fibrin-Gerinnselbildung notwendig sind. Dieses Protein könnte eine Rolle bei der Entwicklung von hepatozellulären Karzinomen spielen. Für dieses Gen existieren vier alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten, die dasselbe Protein kodieren.
