Keratin 18 (KRT18), also known as cytokeratin 18, CK-18 and K18, is a type I cytoskeletal intermediate-filament protein. This ABMIUM target record connects NCBI Gene 3875 and UniProtKB P05783 to catalogue-backed research products.
Biological function: Keratin 18 (KRT18/CK-18) is a type I intermediate-filament protein expressed prominently in simple epithelial cells. It forms heteropolymeric filaments, notably with keratin 8, that contribute to cytoskeletal organisation, mechanical stability and epithelial-cell resilience.
