Der Cleavage- und Polyadenylierungs-Spezifitätsfaktor-Untereinheit 6 ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das CPSF6-Gen kodiert wird. Das von diesem Gen kodierte Protein ist eine Untereinheit eines Spaltungsfaktors, der für die 3'-RNA-Spaltung und die Polyadenylierungsverarbeitung erforderlich ist. Die Wechselwirkung des Proteins mit der RNA ist einer der frühesten Schritte beim Zusammenbau des 3'-End-Verarbeitungskomplexes und erleichtert die Rekrutierung anderer Verarbeitungsfaktoren. Der Spaltungsfaktorkomplex besteht aus vier Polypeptiden. Dieses Gen kodiert die 68kD-Untereinheit. Es weist eine Domänenorganisation auf, die an spliceosomale Proteine erinnert.
