SET-Domänen-bifurkierte Histon-Lysin-Methyltransferase 2 ist ein Protein im Menschen, das vom SETDB2-Gen kodiert wird. Es ist auf 13q14.2 kartiert. Dieses Gen kodiert ein Mitglied einer Proteinfamilie, die eine Methyl-CpG-bindende Domäne (MBD) und eine SET-Domäne enthält und als Histon-Methyltransferasen fungiert. Dieses Protein wird an Heterochromatin rekrutiert und spielt eine Rolle bei der Regulierung der Chromosomensegregation. Diese Region ist bei chronischer lymphatischer Leukämie häufig deletiert. Natürlicherweise kommt es zu einer Readthrough-Transkription von diesem Gen zum nachgeschalteten PHF11 (PHD-Fingerprotein 11)-Gen. Alternatives Spleißen führt zu mehreren Transkriptvarianten.
