CD84 (Cluster of Differentiation 84) ist ein menschliches Protein, das durch das CD84-Gen kodiert wird. Dieses Gen kodiert ein Membranglykoprotein, das ein Mitglied der Signalling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule (SLAM)-Familie ist. Diese Familie bildet eine Untergruppe der größeren CD2-Zelloberflächenrezeptor-Ig-Superfamilie. Das kodierte Protein ist ein homophiles Adhäsionsmolekül, das in zahlreichen Immunzelltypen exprimiert wird und an der Regulierung der rezeptorvermittelten Signalgebung in diesen Zellen beteiligt ist. Alternatives Spleißen führt zu mehreren Transkriptvarianten. Mitglieder der CD2-Untergruppe der Ig-Superfamilie, wie CD84, weisen ähnliche Muster konservierter Disulfidbrücken auf und funktionieren bei Adhäsionsinteraktionen zwischen T-Lymphozyten und akzessorischen Zellen.
