Metronidazole belongs to the class of nitroimidazole antibiotics, its main role is to treat trichomoniasis and anaerobic infections. By inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial genetic material and interfering with the growth and reproduction of bacteria, there by achieving the purpose of sterilization.

Detection method: Colorimetric method;ELISA;Competitive. Supplier-listed detection limit: 0.5 ppb; 0.3 ppb; 1 ppb (matrix-dependent). Incubation time: 105 minutes. Format: Microtiter plate with 96 wells (12 strips with 8 wells each).

Test principle

This kit uses Competitive-ELISA as the method for the quantitative detection. It can detect Metronidazole (MNZ) in samples, such as muscle, honey, etc. This kit is composed of ELISA Microtiter plate,HRP conjugate, antibody working solution, standard and other supplementary reagents. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with coupled antigen. During the reaction, MNZ in the samples or standard competes with coupled antigen on the solid phase supporter for sites of anti-MNZ antibody. Then Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well, and substrate reagent isfor color development. There isa negative correlation between the OD value of samples and the concentration of MNZ. The concentration of MNZ inthe samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples tothe standard curve.
