Carbadox is an antibacterial growth-promoting agent, which has the effect of promoting protein assimilation, can significantly improve the feed conversion rate, and can fight bacterial infections in pigs, especially swine dysentery. The Canadian government prohibits its use as a livestock feed additive and for human consumption.
