Das Gen ist ein Mitglied der Immunglobulin-Superfamilie. Das kodierte Protein ist mit der Angiogenese assoziiert und hat potenzielle Rollen bei der endothelialen Röhrchenbildung und der Migration von Endothelzellen. Es kann auch die Migration von glatten Muskelzellen über den RhoA-Signalweg regulieren. Das kodierte Protein kann Heparin binden und die Heparin-sensitive Zelladhäsion vermitteln.
