ABMIUM target intelligence

AGRN

agrin

Agrin (AGRN) is an extracellular matrix and synaptic organizer with a central role in neuromuscular junction formation and maintenance. This ABMIUM record links human AGRN (NCBI Gene 375790; reviewed UniProt O00468) to catalogue-backed research products.

About AGRN

Target information is kept separate from product-level validation so you can review the biology and the reagent evidence independently.

Biology

Biological function

Agrin (AGRN) is a heparan-sulfate basal-lamina glycoprotein whose neuronal isoforms organize postsynaptic differentiation at the neuromuscular junction. Reviewed UniProt evidence describes AGRN-LRP4 complex formation, activation of MUSK and clustering of acetylcholine receptors, with additional isoform-dependent roles in neurite outgrowth and synapse biology.

Experimental context

Research context

AGRN/agrin is studied in neuromuscular-junction development and maintenance, synapse organization, extracellular-matrix biology, postsynaptic differentiation and acetylcholine-receptor clustering. Confirm species, sample type, application, assay format and product-level validation before selecting an ABMIUM reagent.
