Interleukin-27 (IL-27) is an extracellular heterodimeric cytokine formed by the IL-27 p28 subunit and EBI3. It is produced principally by antigen-presenting cells and regulates T- and B-cell responses, including expansion of naïve CD4+ T cells and induction of interferon-γ in appropriate immune contexts.
