Product Description

Human CD46 ELISA Kit PicoKine® is a research-use ELISA kit from Boster Bio for measuring Membrane cofactor protein in Cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA) samples from Human. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Human CD46 ELISA Kit PicoKine® (96 Tests). Quantitate Human CD46 in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). Sensitivity: 2 pg/ml. The brand Picokine indicates this is a premium quality ELISA kit. Each Picokine kit delivers precise quantification, high sensitivity, and excellent reproducibility. Only our most reliable and effective kits qualify as Picokine, guaranteeing top-tier results for your assays.

CD46 complement regulatory protein also known as CD46 (cluster of differentiation 46) and Membrane Cofactor Protein is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CD46 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein and is a regulatory part of the complement system. The encoded protein has cofactor activity for inactivation of complement components C3b and C4b by serum factor I, which protects the host cell from damage by complement. In addition, the encoded protein can act as a receptor for the Edmonston strain of measles virus, human herpesvirus-6, and type IV pili of pathogenic Neisseria. Finally, the protein encoded by this gene may be involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization. Mutations at this locus have been associated with susceptibility to hemolytic uremic syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
