MMRN1 rabbit pAb from ELK Biotechnology Read more ›
MMRN1 rabbit pAb is a research-use antibody from ELK Biotechnology for studying MMRN1 in WB workflows with listed reactivity for Human, Mouse. Specifications and supporting documents below should be reviewed when planning the experiment.
Multimerin is a massive, soluble protein found in platelets and in the endothelium of blood vessels. It is comprised of subunits linked by interchain disulfide bonds to form large, variably sized homomultimers. Multimerin is a factor V/Va-binding protein and may function as a carrier protein for platelet factor V. It may also have functions as an extracellular matrix or adhesive protein. Recently, patients with an unusual autosomal-dominant bleeding disorder (factor V Quebec) were found to have a deficiency of platelet multimerin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008],

| Expression system | Synthesized by endothelial cells and megakaryocytes. Stored in platelet alpha granules and endothelial cell Weibel-Palade bodies, following activation of these cells, it is released and attached to megakaryocytes, platelets, endothelium and subendothelium of blood vessels. Not found in plasma. Found in vascular tissues such as placenta, lung, and liver. |
