Alpha-sarcoglycan (SGCA) is a transmembrane component of the sarcoglycan complex within the dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex. In striated muscle it helps link the intracellular actin cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix and supports sarcolemmal stability.
