Product description

Rat AGTR1(Angiotensin II Receptor 1) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring AGTR1 in Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat AGTR1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat AGTR1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat AGTR1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat AGTR1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

AGTR1angiotensin II receptor type 1

View target guide

Angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AGTR1), commonly called the AT1 receptor or AT1R, is a G protein-coupled receptor for angiotensin II and a central signalling component of the renin-angiotensin system. This ABMIUM record links human AGTR1 (NCBI Gene 185; UniProt P30556) to catalogue-backed research products.

Biological function: AGTR1 encodes the type-1 angiotensin II receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor activated by angiotensin II. Curated UniProt evidence describes coupling to Gq-family G proteins, phospholipase C activation and increased cytosolic calcium, supporting angiotensin-II responses involved in vascular tone, blood-pressure regulation and renal sodium handling.
