YWHAE/CEP17 est la sonde cible répertoriée pour ce réactif d'hybridation in situ par fluorescence à usage de recherche uniquement (RUO) et est pertinente pour la cytogénétique moléculaire, l'oncologie ou la recherche en hématologie en fonction du locus cible.

La conception de la fusion est utilisée pour étudier la proximité spatiale ou le réarrangement entre les régions cibles répertoriées, appuyant la recherche sur les translocations récurrentes et les modèles cytogénétiques associés à la fusion.

Les sondes FISH sont appliquées sur des cellules fixées ou des coupes de tissus préparées où les cibles génomiques restent spatialement préservées, ce qui les rend utiles pour la recherche en cytogénétique moléculaire, les études de biologie tumorale et la vérification des changements chromosomiques structurels ou numériques.
