MGEA5 est la cible de la sonde répertoriée pour ce réactif d'hybridation in situ en fluorescence à usage de recherche uniquement et est pertinent pour la recherche en cytogénétique moléculaire, en oncologie ou en hématologie selon le locus cible.

La conception « break-apart » est utilisée pour étudier les réarrangements impliquant MGEA5, où la séparation des signaux de sonde différemment marqués peut indiquer une perturbation du locus cible dans les échantillons de recherche préparés.

Les sondes FISH sont appliquées à des cellules fixées ou à des coupes de tissus préparées où les cibles génomiques restent spatialement préservées, ce qui les rend utiles pour la recherche en cytogénétique moléculaire, les études de biologie tumorale et la vérification des changements chromosomiques structurels ou numériques.
