La protéine codée par ce gène est une protéine de liaison au rétinoblastome qui peut jouer un rôle dans la régulation de la prolifération et de la différenciation cellulaires. Deux variants de transcription de ce gène, épissés alternativement, avec des produits protéiques prédits identiques, ont été rapportés, dont l'un est un candidat à la dégradation par nonsense-mediated decay.
