L'ubiquitine carboxyl-terminale hydrolase 44 est une enzyme qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène USP44. Elle est localisée sur 12q22. La protéine codée par ce gène est une protéase qui fonctionne comme une enzyme de déubiquitination. La protéine codée est censée aider à réguler le point de contrôle de l'assemblage du fuseau en empêchant le début précoce de l'anaphase. Cette protéine déubiquitine spécifiquement CDC20, ce qui stabilise le complexe/cyclosome de promotion de l'anaphase.
