La synaptojanine 2 est une protéine dont le gène SYNJ2 code chez l'homme. Le gène est un membre de la famille inositol-polyphosphate 5-phosphatase. La protéine codée interagit avec le substrat 1 de la toxine botulinique C3 lié à Ras, ce qui provoque la translocation de la protéine codée vers la membrane plasmique où elle inhibe l'endocytose médiée par la clathrine. L'épissage alternatif entraîne de multiples variants de transcription.
