BST1 (bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1), also known as CD157, is a GPI-anchored ectoenzyme whose reviewed protein is ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 2.
Biological function: BST1/CD157 can catalyse formation of cyclic ADP-ribose from NAD+ and hydrolyse cyclic ADP-ribose to ADP-ribose. Cyclic ADP-ribose functions as a calcium-mobilizing second messenger, while BST1 has also been implicated in supporting pre-B-cell growth in stromal-cell contexts.
