Der EPH-Rezeptor A4 (Ephrin-Typ-A-Rezeptor 4) ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen vom EPHA4-Gen kodiert wird. Es ist kartiert auf 1 C4; 1 39,55 cM. Dieses Gen gehört zur Ephrin-Rezeptor-Unterfamilie der Protein-Tyrosinkinase-Familie. EPH- und EPH-verwandte Rezeptoren wurden in die Vermittlung von Entwicklungsereignissen involviert, insbesondere im Nervensystem. Rezeptoren der EPH-Unterfamilie besitzen typischerweise eine einzelne Kinasedomäne und eine extrazelluläre Region, die eine Cys-reiche Domäne und 2 Fibronectin-Typ-III-Wiederholungen enthält. Die Ephrin-Rezeptoren werden in 2 Gruppen eingeteilt, basierend auf der Ähnlichkeit ihrer extrazellulären Domänensequenzen und ihrer Affinitäten zur Bindung von Ephrin-A- und Ephrin-B-Liganden.
